Delipidating in vitro-produced bovine zygotes: effect on further development and consequences for freezability.
To study the effect of partial removal of intracytoplasmatic lipids from bovine zygotes on their in vitro and in vivo survival, presumptive zygotes were delipidated by micromanipulation and cocultured with Vero cells in B2+10% FCS. Blastocyst rates of delipidated (n=960), sham (centrifuged but not delipidated, n=830) and control embryos (n=950) were 42.1, 42.3 and 39.9% respectively (P > 0.05)....
متن کاملEffect of the bovine oviductal fluid on in vitro fertilization, development and gene expression of in vitro-produced bovine blastocysts.
Oviductal microenvironment generally provides better conditions for early embryo development than the conventional in vitro system. In an attempt to simulate the oviduct conditions or the main potentially influencing factors, the effect was studied of a bovine oviductal fluid (bOF) treatment applied prior to IVF on (i) IVF parameters, (ii) cleavage rate, (iii) blastocyst yield and (iv) blastocy...
متن کاملthe effect of vero cells co-culture on in vitro maturation of bovine immature oocytes and further embryo development
objective: this study was carried out to examine the effect of vero cells co-culture on developmental competence of immature oocytes. materials and methods: bovine cumulus-oocyte-complexes (cocs) were matured in either presence or absence of vero cells. matured oocytes were inseminated and cultured for up to nine days. cleavage percentages were recorded on day two post insemination (pi). embryo...

The neurological examinations and intra-aortic perfusion were performed with the assistance of Dr T. J. Anderson, Department of Veterinary Clinical Studies, University of Glasgow Veterinary School. Professor I. R. Griffiths provided valuable advice on the interpretation of pathological findings. Mr R. Irvine and Mr J. Ramsey performed dissections on the cadavers. The processing ofthe epoxy resi...
